CCS Retail Systems New CMS Site
The most important objective in our decision to make a new Web site was to ensure that our customers and business partners would be able to participate in its content. Our goal is to develop a community of interest in the Products and Services we provide by sharing the Products, Experiences, and Interests of all of our contacts and friends. We hope you will participate and see that this a mutually beneficial approach.
We have redesigned our web site with several key objectives.
- Provide a vehicle to encourage participation of our customers, suppliers, and friends.
- Simplify the site layout and design.
- Make the information easier to read, using summary and detailed formats.
- Keep the site current with content an interaction trends.
- Facilitate template changes to keep the content interesting.
- Provide a plug-in structure for easy enhancement.
- Make the site easier to maintain and enhance.
- Keep the technical aspects better hidden.
We found that the best type of web site for these objectives was a Content Management System (CMS). CMS systems are designed to include the above objectives and many other related concepts.
Our new site now uses a flexible article structure that allows dozens of convenient formats for article layouts. You will see that we have used Menus, Lists, Blogs, and Forums organized into Sections, Categories and multi-page Articles. This helps to make the site easier to browse. You can easily select only what interests you at the level of detail you wish to explore.
For better protection, our content is conveniently captured in a database that is backed up automatically each day. This gives us better protection from information loss.
