CP SQL 8.4 - PA DSS Com pliancy
Automatic Station Locking.
New Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) guidelines now require that all workstations that process Credit Card transactions be locked automatically after a maximum of 15 minutes of inactivity.
In previous versions of CP SQL, you could configure CounterPoint to automatically lock a station after a user left a station running unattended for a period of time while they were logged into either the Ticket Entry or Touchscreen Ticket Entry.
The changes with this update allow the following new features:
-
You can now enable/disable automatic station locking on the Workgroup security tab.
-
Upon installation of the 8.4 software, the default inactivity timeout value is automatically set to the PA-DSS minimum standard of 15 Minutes.
-
The inactivity timeout can be set-up with a user-defined value. If you set this greater than the 15 minute minimum requirement, and/or disable this feature, the software will automatically be signaled as non PA-DSS compliant.
In order to unlock the station special procedures are required..
If you need assistance with checking your current system for PA-DSS Compliance, please contact the CCS Retail Systems Support Department.
